The short version

The Passport Expert app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal information. Everything you enter stays on your own device. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else.

The Passport Expert UK Limited ("we", "us") is a private company registered in England and Wales. We provide passport application support services.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to His Majesty's Passport Office (HMPO) or the UK government in any way.

What information the app collects

None.

The app has no user accounts, no login, and no server. We do not operate any database that holds information about app users.

Information you enter into the app

You may choose to enter certain information to use the app's features:

• Passport details (a name or label, expiry date, and issue date) if you use the Passport Wallet
• Travel dates and destinations if you use the Validity Checker
• Photographs if you use the Photo Checker

All of this stays on your device. It is stored locally in the app's own storage on your phone. It is never sent to us, never uploaded to any server, and never shared with any third party.

If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it.

Photographs

Photos taken or selected in the Photo Checker are processed entirely on your device. They are not uploaded, transmitted, or analysed by us or by any third-party service. We check technical properties such as image dimensions and file size — we do not analyse the content of your photograph, and we never see it.

Notifications

The app can remind you before a saved passport expires. These reminders are scheduled locally on your own device. No information is sent to us or to any notification service in order to deliver them.

If you contact us through the app

The app includes an option to send us an enquiry about our services. This works by opening your own email application with some details pre-filled (the service you were looking at, the price shown, and your travel date).

You send this email yourself, from your own email account. The app does not send it, and does not retain a copy.

If you choose to send us an enquiry, we will then hold the information you provided in that email — such as your name, email address and phone number — in order to respond to you and, if you go on to use our services, to provide them. That information is handled under our main company privacy policy and our obligations as a data controller registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Please do not send passport numbers or other sensitive details by email. If we need those, we will ask for them through our secure process.

Analytics and tracking

The app contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party software development kits that collect data. We have no way of knowing how you use the app.

Links to other websites

The app contains links to external websites, including GOV.UK, FCDO travel advice, official visa portals, and our own website. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.

Children

The app is intended for adults arranging passports for themselves or their families. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information at all.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about app users, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete in relation to your use of the app. All information is under your control on your own device.

If you have contacted us by email, you have the usual rights under UK GDPR in relation to that correspondence — including access, correction, and erasure. Contact info@thepassportexpert.co.uk to exercise them.

Accuracy of information in the app

Passport validity rules, visa requirements, and service prices shown in the app are drawn from official sources (HM Passport Office, GOV.UK, and FCDO travel advice) and are provided as guidance only. Requirements can change, and airlines sometimes apply stricter checks than a destination country itself. Always confirm current requirements with the official source before booking or travelling.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this policy and the date at the top. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's data disclosure on the App Store and Google Play.
